Scope of data collection

When you're accessing this website, the following visitor data is collected by the webserver's automatic logging process:

  • IP-Address
  • Anonymized IP-Address, whereby anonymization clears the last 16 bits from an IPv4 and the last 80 bits from an IPv6
  • The date and time of access
  • The name of the webpages accessed
  • The type of browser used, the so-called “User Agent”
  • Operating System
  • The referer, meaning the URL of the page from which the request to this site was was initiated

Storage period

Non-anonymized IP addresses are kept for seven days, after which they are deleted, except when this data is required due to a legal dispute. All non-personal data described in the scope of the data collection is kept indefinitely.

Purpose

Logging of the non-anonymized IP addresses from the last seven days is used to ensure security and proper operation of this website. Non-personal data, which is stored indefinitely, is used for traffic analysis using Matomo, to evaluate/improve system performance and to improve your user experience. The data is only evaluated in the context of this website alone.

Lawful basis for the purposes mentioned above is article 6(1)f of the GDPR.

Data collected on this website, be it personal or non-personal data, is never shared with any third party.

In case you're contacting me by e-mail, your mail along with the personal data contained in it will be stored in order to be able to resolve the issue described in it.

Storage period

Your mail will be stored as long as necessary to achieve the purpose for which the mail was sent, and will be kept for six months in order to be able to deal with follow-ups.

Data in transit is encrypted using state-of-the-art opportunistic TLS, which means that the connection will be encrypted when the mail transfer agent delivering mail to this site also supports and utilizes TLS.

End-to-end encryption

For increased security, E-Mail can also be encrypted by PGP using this key.

The right to object

The user has the right to object to processing of his/her personal data, under certain conditions. This right is not applicable to this site, as the only personal information, the IP address, is required for regular operation and automatically deleted as soon as possible.

Individuals have the right to object to having decisions made about them by automated processes or profiling. As no automated processing or profiling takes place, this right is not applicable to this site.
